Menu
Being a girl with no business far from Toronto, its not very often that i woiod venture too far outside the heart of the city. Unless there is some thing really special. So what was I doing out west in Mississauga on a Friday night? Well, that was just it; there was definitely something special here. Located just outside Square One shopping mall, is one of the few night clubs in Missausagea &Company Resto Bar. When I found out from Lien (@LienValesquez) that they had just a day ago revamped their menu for then summer, I decided to take a look and was impressed. Some interesting options, reasonable prices, Added to the fact that on Friday nights they have burlesque dancers to entertain you while you eat, and a dance floor to transition into a nightclub after dark, I didn't see why I wouldn't make the short trip out for an experience.
&Company Resto Bar
I came here a bit before my reservation, but was pleasantly greeted by the hostess who told me it was no problem for me to be seated early. In fact at the time, it was quite empty inside, but it did give me a good chance to scope out the place. A bar area with TVs, a decently sized dance floor, regular dining tables, and plush keather sofa booths for those wanting a more laid back dinner and night experience.
The bar
Fork and glass - cute food and drink menus!
While glancing over the menus the waitress recommended us a couple drinks, of which sounded deliciously suitable for the on set of new summer weather. How could anyone resist a coconut mojito, or a lychee Martini? Both were delicious, but if you're a lychee fanatic like me, you will absolutely fall in love with the Martini. The drinks aren't too heavy in alcohol taste, so it was all too easy to just devour the entire thing before any of the food came.
Left:Coconut Mojito ($7.50) - Parrot Bay rum, muddled with fresh lime and pinapple
Right:Blushing Lychee ($8.50) - smirnoff strawberry vodka, soho, white cranberry and strawberry puree
Later on in the night when our drinks bottomed out, we decided to try some of the other coctails. I went for the White wine sangria. My boyfriend wasn't too enticed by the preset cocktail list, and asked if there were any whiskey based cocktails. Apologetically the waitress told us they didn't, but would glady make whatever it was he wanted. In this case, it ended up being a Manhattan. I haven't been to very restaurants where the chef or bartender was willing to modify or make something off menu, so this was definitely a nice gesture. Bonus points for them!
White Sangria ($7.50) - White wine, Triple Sec and fresh seasonal fruit
Specially made Manhattan cocktail
While the drinks were exceeding pleasing, it was really the food that we came here to try. Despite there only being a small two page menu, let me tell you it was quite the difficult choice narrowing it down to just a handful of items. This wasn't your typical bar menu of poutine, nachos, and wings. Each dish had an elaborate ingredient listing which alone could have induced salivation. So my boyfriend and I did what we normally do at these times of indecisiveness: ask the pros. We figured since they did a good job with the drinks, the food orders shouldn't be too far off!
Appetizers
Lobster Tacos ($19) - Garlic buttered lobster tails with pico de gallo, tomatillo salsa, shredded lettuce and cheddar; served with sour cream and guacamole
An order of the Lobster Tacos will come with three hardshell tacos filled with a generous amount of lobster and it's accompanying ingredients. Definitely not one of those lobster tacos where you have to poke around to see where the lobster is. This wasn't the most memorable app for me, but Rob seemed to enjoy and praise it quite a bit.
Lobster Taco Sour cream and Guacamole
Braised Beef Short Ribs ($16) - slow cooked and served with celeriac purree, griddled pinapple, asapargus and Jagermeister steeped raisins, toasted walnuts, and pearl onions; finished with natural jus
The best app of the night for me would definitely be this Braised Beef Short Rib. I don't even know where to begin. For starters, it was cooked to a ridiculous perfection. Perfect bite sizes chunks that pull apart and melts in your mouth like candy. I was a little skeptical about how the pinapple, jagermeister raisins, and walnuts would play out, but it added the perfect amount of acidity and crunch to complement the dish. And if that wasn't enough to win me over, that bed of creamy whipped mash potato definitely did. Amazing!
Cajun Blackened Scallops ($17) - Jumbo Nova Scotia sea scallops seared with our blackened Cajun rub on a Patron tequilla succotash with yucca chips and pinapple basi salsa
I think both Rob and I agreed that this was an appetizer with extreme flavours. A sweet pineapple salsa, spicy cajun rub, smokey grill finish on the scallops, and savoury sauce to finish it off. I didn't care too much for all the flavour contrasts, but definitely something that will give your tastebuds a check.
Cajun Blackened Scallops ($17) - Jumbo Nova Scotia sea scallops seared with our blackened Cajun rub on a Patron tequilla succotash with yucca chips and pinapple basi salsa
I will say however, that the scallops were perfectly cooked. Seared just right with none of that stringy or chewy rubber texture.
Surf and Turf ($29) - Lemon garlic buttered Atlantic lobster tail on a mango fennel slaw and 6ox top sirloin on pearl onion jus, served with a double cheese baked potato, scallions, asparagus and crispy shallots

Seafood Linguine ($19.50) - Seafood linguine with Nova Scotia scallops, shrimp, and sweet peppers, tossed in a fire roasted spicy tomato arrabiata sauce with a hint of fennel
This would've been a rather ordinary pasta, if it weren't for the prominent presence of seafood. I really have to send my compliments to the chef, because between the Seafood Linguine, Lobster Tacos, Cajun Scallops, and the "surf" portion of the Surf and Turf, I found the seafood here at &Company to be is excellently cooked. I definitely advise for order critters from the sea! and I liked that there was a generous amount of it.
Dessert
First glance at the dessert menu, I immediately had my heart set on the Chocolate Trilogy, a medley of dark chocolate mouse sem-freddos with with white chocolate nougat lattice wafer and Lindt milk chocolate ice cream. I love my Lindt chocolate! Yet somehow, I was persuasively convinced by our waitress to order the signature Brownie & Cookie Stack dessert instead. All she needed to say was "white chocolate brownie" and I was sold. And it definitely did not disappoint! A layered tower made of semi-sweet dark chocolate cookies and a warm chewy white chocolate brownie, and a dallop of vanilla ice cream.
Brownie & Cookie Stack ($10) - White chocolate fudge brownie and dark chocolate cookie tower with caramel, strawberries and vanilla ice cream
As soon the plate was placed on the table I could immediately smell the fresh-baked aroma of the cookie/brownie tower which reminisces waiting for your oven baked cookies to cool. The dessert looks ridiculously decadent and sweet, but surprisingly it has just the right balance. It did become a little too much near the end of it though. Even with dual effort, Rob and I couldn't conquer the stack. The portion is massive so sharing of this heavenly dessert is advisable!

Entertainment
The best part about dining at a supper club, is that it's a one stop shop for dinner and entertainment. Near the tail end of the meal, a performance of burlesque dancers took place, and it definitely drew a big crowd. The burlesque dancers christened the dance floor, which shortly transitioned to a more club-like atmosphere.
Burlesque Dancers
DJ's spinning
I was really surprised to see all the negative reviews online for &Company. While it is a little far from my usual locale, I thoroughly enjoyed the fine dining and night club experience. The revised menu is pleasing, and I can definitely say I'll be back for more of the Brownie Cookie stack, and delicious cocktails!
